Dear Lake Sinissippi Neighbors,

The Lake Sinissippi Improvement District (LSID) would like to inform you that shoreline mapping activities are being conducted around Lake Sinissippi as part of the ongoing implementation of the Lake Management Plan. These efforts support LSID’s long-term goals of shoreline protection, habitat improvement, erosion monitoring, water quality enhancement, and preservation of the lake’s natural resources for future generations.

You can imagine how long it would take to travel the shorelines by boat, and manually capture shoreline data, not to mention the potential for bent props! We've found a better, less time consuming option. You may notice a drone operating along or near shoreline areas over the coming weeks. The drone activity is being used strictly for shoreline assessment, mapping, and environmental documentation purposes. The information collected helps LSID better understand shoreline conditions, erosion concerns, vegetation health, habitat opportunities, and other environmental factors that are important to maintaining and improving the health of Lake Sinissippi.

The flights are being conducted by local Sharp Eyed Aviation, which is an authorized licensed operator in accordance with applicable FAA regulations, and are focused on shoreline and lake management data collection — not individual properties or private activities.

We appreciate your cooperation and support as we continue to work on preserving and improving Lake Sinissippi for all property owners, residents, and visitors.
